I developed a Python function to calculate closed form exact values for wind forces and wind CGs.
I use only calculus — no bar charts with 0′ to 15′, 20′ to 25′, et cetera —- a curve rather than a step function. I present derivations and examples.
Although ice loading is written as a simple formula, the formula varies with structural geometry (W, T, C, etc). I haven’t seen it automated in software.
Stand alone python program easily calculates wind loads on wide flange steel of any geometry or orientation, with or without fireproofing (video screen capture included).
