The scientific paper is obsolete. @jsomers predicts what will take its place:
Excellent article.
BUT
What would protect the author’s IP?
How long could one use the paper before the publication software became obsolete?
Short of obsolescence, periodic software upgrades would surely break the publication software.
So, at best, the publication would have a 3 to 5 year useful life.
Two words: ‘no way’
